Mosquito Control Program

Sea Pines CSA Seasonal Mosquito Control Program

During the mosquito season, May through September, the Sea Pines CSA Maintenance Department monitors mosquito populations within Sea Pines. A sprayed adulticide program is conducted on an as-needed basis, weather permitting.

Sea Pines CSA treats the following locations throughout the community: select Sea Pines CSA open space areas, roadways, leisure trails, beach walks, and Tower Beach. Sea Pines CSA also treats our catch basins and lagoons with a pre-emergent product.

Sea Pines CSA does not treat private residential or commercial properties within Sea Pines. Owners interested in a mosquito spraying service should contact a professional pest control company.

Tips to reduce mosquito population:

  • Mosquitoes require water to breed. Adult mosquitoes lay eggs in stagnant or slow moving water, or on moist soil or leaf litter in areas likely to collect water. By eliminating these water sources, you can keep new generations of mosquitoes from taking up residence in your yard.
  • Adult mosquitoes rest during the day, usually on tall weeds or other vegetation. Make your yard less hospitable to mosquitoes by mowing your lawn regularly, and keep weeds away from your home’s foundation.
