Yesterday afternoon, we were informed that a subcontractor for a utility company caused a water main line break on Lighthouse Road. This incident disrupted water service in the Harbour Town area and caused significant damage to the roadway. Sea Pines CSA and South Island Public Service District (SIPSD) responded to the situation for emergency repairs, putting temporary measures in place and successfully restoring water service late last night (pictured).
Today, Sea Pines CSA personnel and contractors are on-site to conduct a thorough assessment of the damage to the roadway and the underlying infrastructure. Please be aware that while temporary repairs are currently underway, more permanent repairs will be necessary and will take significant time to complete. Single lane closures, detours, and traffic control measures will be in place as needed at the intersection of Lighthouse Road and Lighthouse Lane. We encourage you to avoid this area if possible.
