A Letter From Bret Martin to Sea Pines Property Owners Regarding Alligator Attack In Sea Pines on August 20th

August 20th, 2018
Dear Sea Pines Property Owners,
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the tragic loss of one of our Sea Pines property owners Cassandra Cline. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement earlier today stating that Ms.Cline was killed by an alligator in a lagoon in the Club Course area of Sea Pines. An alligator—believed responsible for the attack—was located and removed from the scene.
Sea Pines CSA is working alongside the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR) while they investigate the incident surrounding this tragedy. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department is leading this investigation and sharing details around the incident through several channels, including Nixle (http://local.nixle.com/beaufort-county-sheriffs-office/) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/BeaufortCoSO).
We ask that the community respect the needs of the investigators and privacy of the victim’s family and neighbors. We are shocked and heartbroken over this loss and are praying for Ms.Cline’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Bret
