Sea Pines CSA Maintenance Storm Preparedness

With hurricane season in full swing, our Sea Pines CSA Maintenance Staff has been working hard to ensure that our community is thoroughly prepared for any weather-related challenges that may arise this season.

Throughout the spring and summer months, our team has concentrated on an extensive series of stormwater system upgrades and preventive maintenance initiatives. These comprehensive efforts are designed to strengthen our drainage infrastructure to effectively manage the intense rainfall that hurricane season often delivers. From systematically clearing debris from storm drains to conducting thorough inspections of critical storm control structures, our team has meticulously addressed every aspect of storm preparedness.

A significant focus for our Maintenance Department has been the ongoing inspection and maintenance of Sea Pines CSA’s 89 acres of managed lagoons. A recent major project involved comprehensive sediment removal from the lagoon system near Harleston Green Road (pictures shown below). This essential work not only maintains optimal stormwater capacity and conveyance throughout our lagoon network, but also enhances the natural beauty and environmental health of our community waterways.

Critical Infrastructure Projects to Begin Early Fall 2025

Two major critical infrastructure projects are scheduled to begin this fall to improve our community’s stormwater drainage systems, roadways, and overall safety.

Both projects will involve heavy construction equipment, temporary lane closures, and potential utility disruptions during work hours. Please do not remove any staking or utility markings you may see in either project area. Please visit the project websites for detailed maps, traffic management information, and ongoing updates. Comments or questions for our Capital Projects Department may be submitted online here.
