South Sea Pines Drive Leisure Trail Timber Bridge Replacement Project
The existing leisure trail pedestrian bridge located along South Sea Pines Drive in proximity to Beach Marker #24 (located between Black Skimmer Lane and Royal Tern Road ) has exceeded its useful life and must be replaced. Sea Pines CSA contractors are scheduled to begin demolition and reconstruction work the week of February 20th.
Project work will take approximately 4-6 weeks, weather permitting. During this time, pedestrians and cyclists will need to use the leisure trail detour as the bridge will not be available for use. Click here to view the detour map.

3/30/23 Update –
Final completion of the new leisure trail pedestrian bridge (pictured) located along South Sea Pines Drive in proximity to Beach Marker #24 (located between Black Skimmer Lane and Royal Tern Road) will take approximately 2-3 more weeks, weather permitting.
In the meantime, temporary rails are being installed and the bridge will be open and available for use beginning Saturday, April 1st.
4/27/23 Update –
Final completion of the Sea Pines Drive Timber Bridge, including installation of bridge railings and bridge painting, is in progress and will be completed early next week, weather permitting.
Partial bridge closures will be in place during project work.
Please use caution in the work area.
