Sea Pines CSA Tropical Storm Debby Update (8.6.24 @ 7:45PM)

Sea Pines CSA continues to monitor and respond to Tropical Storm Debby. Our area remains under the following watches and warnings: Tropical Storm Warning, Flash Flood Warning, and Flood Watch.
Sea Pines CSA Operation Updates & Notices:

  • The Sea Pines CSA Administration office, Sea Pines Community Center and Sea Pines ARB office will remain closed through Wednesday, August 7th, and will resume normal business hours on Thursday, August 8th.
  • The Sea Pines Guest Pass office and Security Dispatch office (843-671-7170) are operating under normal business hours. We will notify you in advance if these services need to be modified due to storm conditions.
  • Tower Beach access will reopen Wednesday, August 7th, conditions permitting.
  • The Sea Pines Forest Preserve and Six Oaks Cemetery will remain closed through Wednesday, August 7th, for cleanup operations.
  • The Sea Pines Trolley and Beach Shuttle services remain suspended through Wednesday, August 7th.
  • The Sea Pines CSA Maintenance storm team is continuously patrolling the community clearing stormwater drainage structures and removing downed trees and debris from roadways. They will remain onsite throughout the duration of the storm to assist with mechanical pumping of critical storm water areas and respond to storm-related events.

Important Reminders:

  • As the storm continues to impact our area, property owners, guests and visitors are asked to remain indoors and to stay off of the roadways and leisure trails in Sea Pines.
  • If you must travel, avoid areas of standing water and downed trees across a roadway.
  • Should stormwater inundation occur, please shelter in place until waters have receded.
  • Wildlife, such as alligators and snakes, are more likely to be displaced and seen during and after a storm. Be aware, keep pets on a leash at all times, and give all wild animals space. To report a wildlife concern, please contact the Sea Pines Security at 843.671.7170.
  • To continue to allow Santee Cooper unobstructed access to the major transformer lines in Sea Pines, please do not park vehicles in lot numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10.

National Weather Service– Charleston Office 6:00 PM Tropical Storm Debby Briefing

Situation Overview:

  • Potential for dangerous flooding/flash flooding decreasing. However, many locations still flooded. Additional rainfall could cause additional flooding, or exacerbate current flooding.
  • Storm Surge Warning has been discontinued, but minor coastal flooding impacts still possible for the SC coast, during evening high tides.
  • Potential for Tropical Storm Wind/Wind Gusts mainly confined to SC counties (especially coastal) and GA coastal counties.
  • River Flooding: Long term River Flooding will likely inhibit recovery efforts at least into next week, possibly beyond.
