Boardwalk #16 (pictured), located between Bald Eagle Road and Belted Kingfisher, has exceeded its useful life and must be replaced. Sea Pines CSA contractors began replacement and construction work the week of January 29th. Weather permitting, work will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks and the beach boardwalk access will be closed to all pedestrian traffic during this time.

Project work involves: 

• Widening the boardwalk to 6 feet
• Extending the boardwalk approximately 65 feet over the dune to aid in protection and allow the dune to continue to build

February 28, 2024 Replacement and construction work on Sea Pines CSA Boardwalk #16 has been completed, and the beach boardwalk is now open for public use.

February 22, 2024 Replacement and construction work on Boardwalk #16 is nearing completion. The beach boardwalk access remains closed to all pedestrian traffic during this time, but is expected to reopen early next week.

February 15, 2024  Replacement and construction work on Boardwalk #16 is in progress and will continue through next week, weather permitting. The beach boardwalk access remains closed to all pedestrian traffic during this time.
