Sea Pines CSA Board Chair’s Follow-up on E-Bikes

February 17, 2023

This obviously is a topic of concern to many members of our community. You sent hundreds of emails (close to 500 so far) in response to my request for your comments, suggestions and opinions regarding the topic of e-bikes in Sea Pines.

Comments ranged from one end of the spectrum to the other end with many offering some middle or modified positions. I am still going through your emails and will review each and every email. Your comments will be considered. This effort will take some time.

A word of caution, there are such divergent thoughts on this matter, there will be no way to satisfy everyone. Whatever is decided, whether to continue the ban or to allow e-bikes in some way, will not please everyone.

However, the one thing I can assure you is that your comments will be considered in the process. We will also be consulting with CSA’s attorney for any legal thoughts on this as well.

I will invite some non-board property owners to serve on this Task Force. I already have the names from your emails.

Again, I apologize for not responding personally to your emails. With hundreds of emails, it is and will take a lot of time just to read them.

The number of responses on this topic has re-assured me that our property owners are deeply interested our community. We all want Sea Pines to be a GREAT place to live and not just a place to live.

In the meantime, remember that e-bikes are not allowed to be used in Sea Pines, exceptions to the rule are available only for Sea Pines Property Owners through an approved medical exemption issued from our Security Department.

I will keep you advised as we go through the process.
