Sea Pines Community Services Associates Inc. Recognizes Outgoing President, Bret Martin and Welcomes Incoming President, Sam Bennett

Sea Pines Community Services Associates, Inc.’s (CSA) current President and COO, Mr. Bret Martin, announced in mid-2019, his plans to leave Sea Pines CSA to focus on family enterprises and personal goals. Since joining CSA in July of 2014, Bret has raised the level of commitment, professionalism and forward-thinking of his staff and our community. Bret’s final day with CSA will be January 17, 2020. The CSA Board, staff and entire community wish Bret well in his new endeavors.

The CSA Board of Directors is pleased to announce, that Mr. Sam Bennett has been hired to become the next CSA President and Chief Operating Officer effective February 17, 2020.

Sam currently serves as the Vice President of Administration for the South Carolina Public Service Authority, also known as Santee Cooper.  Sam is a graduate of Winthrop University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, with a concentration in public budget and finance. Sam has a diverse background, working in both the private and public sectors. In addition to his current work with Santee Cooper, he has previously held positions as the Assistant City Administrator for Goose Creek, South Carolina, the City Manager of Clinton, South Carolina, the City Administrator of North Augusta, South Carolina, as well as the President of the South Carolina City and County Manager Association.

Bennett said “He looks forward to bringing his 16 years of city management and 8 years of corporate involvement to Sea Pines. He recognizes the exceptional work that has occurred in the past and looks forward to helping Sea Pines solve current challenges and chart the future.” “He believes that the Sea Pines community and the CSA Team can create a path forward, that all who live, work and visit Sea Pines can believe in and be proud of going forward.”

Please mark your calendars for a Farewell Drop-In for Bret Martin, planned for Friday, January 17th, 2020, at the Sea Pines Community Center located at 71 Lighthouse Road Suite #120 from 2:00-3:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served. No RSVP is required for this drop-in event. All are welcome!
