Greenwood Drive Reconstruction Project Update- Anticipated Re-Opening of Phase One Closure First Week of November
On Monday, September 24, 2018, Sea Pines CSA began major road reconstruction along Greenwood Drive from Club Course Drive to Governors Road. The project included: curb removal, replacement of failing stormwater drainage pipes, roadway widening and road bed stabilization and reinforcement.
The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow, increase drainage efficiency and rebuild and stabilize 1.5 miles of roadway to extend the road’s life.
Due to weather-related and other condition delays, including Hurricane Michael, Sea Pines CSA has revised the construction schedule and now anticipates re-opening the closed portion of Greenwood Drive to two way traffic sometime the first week of November. Weather and other conditions permitting.
Phase 1 detour, which directs traffic through Governors Road, will continue until the closed portion of Greenwood Drive can be reopened.
Our contractors are working as quickly and diligently as possible to get the job done and we greatly appreciate your patience as we make these necessary infrastructure and safety improvements to Greenwood Drive.
