Community Updates

A Letter from Larry Movshin, CSA Board Chairman and Sam Bennett, CSA President

January 28, 2021
Dear Sea Pines property owners,

It is our pleasure to share with the Sea Pines community the announcement made at today’s CSA Board of Directors meeting concerning the voting for the Infrastructure Improvements Referendum. While our auditor has not completed all of its internal steps necessary to certify the results as “official”, they have authorized CSA to announce the following “unofficial” final vote tallies: Of the 5,351 ballots mailed to Participating Property Owners, 75.6% ballots were returned to the auditor. Of the ballots returned, 87.77% voted yes in favor of the Fifth Amendment, while 12.23% voted no.

We want to thank the CSA team who worked so hard to encourage all property owners to cast their votes. And we send a very special thanks to the many members of the Sea Pines community who worked so hard through letters, emails, and word-of-mouth to encourage their neighbors and friends to cast a “yes” vote for the protection of our home investments and revitalization of our community.

We are certainly gratified by the very strong turnout of more than 75% of eligible voters for this Referendum, and we appreciate the confidence in the Board’s approach to strategic community initiatives, which has been demonstrated by the support of nearly 88% of the votes cast. With the method and amount of funding now approved for the long-term financing of our critical infrastructure needs, we are truly hopeful that Sea Pines can, and will, unite to take any additional steps that may be necessary to ensure the future of Sea Pines as the premier community in Hilton Head.

From the entire CSA Board of Directors and Staff, we thank you for your support and look forward to working together to accomplish great things for our community in the coming years.

Regards,

Larry Movshin
