Dear Sea Pines property owners,
Your CSA Board of Directors held a special meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 8, to address allegations from counsel for a residential property owner concerning the validity of Referendum procedures being pursued by the Board. After discussing with our legal counsel, we determined with confidence that we can proceed as planned with the Referendum. Unfortunately, the delay caused by this review resulted in a delay in mailing the Referendum ballots. The new ballot mailing date is December 15, 2020, and the new deadline for postmarking returned ballots is January 20, 2021.
Because these dates fall during the peak holiday mailing season, we urge all property owners to learn as much as possible about the Referendum now so that you can return your ballots promptly.
To assist you in becoming as educated as possible, CSA created a short video that can be viewed here. You can also find additional information at seapinesliving.com/referendum.
For the Referendum to pass, at least 75% of those voting must approve the new Infrastructure Improvement Fund and associated annual assessments. This is a high percentage, and we need all participating property owners – residents and non-residents, investors, lessors and full-time occupiers – to vote. There is no perfect solution to our issues, but we must put aside minor differences that don’t impact this Referendum, whether they are with past actions by the Board or the Board itself, and unite as a community to finally fund the repair and rebuilding of our crumbling infrastructure.
Lastly, I urge you to vote YES to improve our roadways; vote YES to combat flooding; vote YES to finally satisfy our critical infrastructure needs; vote YES to improve home values; vote YES to protect our investments; and most importantly, vote YES to ensure our future.
On behalf of our President, Sam Bennett, and the CSA Board and Staff, we wish you Happy Holidays!
Regards,
