The Otter Road Critical Infrastructure Improvement Project is scheduled to begin September 2, 2025, with an estimated completion time of spring 2026. This project is vital for repairing and improving the stormwater drainage system, as well as the roadway conditions along Otter Road and Fawn Lane.

Planned work will be conducted Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, excluding major holidays. Weekend and overnight work may be necessary but will be communicated in advance.

• Tree work and brush clearing.
• Stormwater ditch cleaning and grading. View the stormwater ditch map here.
• Stormwater drainage upgrades: Excavation and replacement of the stormwater drainage system including pipes and catch basins.
• Well-pointing and dewatering operations (lowering groundwater levels to provide more stable working conditions) will be in place.
• Roadway resurfacing and repairs. Curbing installation in select areas.
• Due to the nature of major infrastructure construction work, planned and unplanned water or utility outages in the project work zone may occur. This includes possible water, sewer, internet, telephone and power interruptions.
• Please be aware that construction noise will occur in the project zone throughout major construction activities.

Traffic Management:

• Single-lane road closures and flagging operations will be in place daily, weather permitting.
• Please note that driveways may be temporarily blocked during stormwater drainage construction.
  • Traffic control will do its best to ensure driveway access is maintained and will work with property owners to arrange temporary parking when needed.
  • Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
• Motorists should expect traffic delays and be prepared for traffic detours.
• Please use caution while driving in this area and observe the work zone speed limit of 15 mph and obey all traffic management personnel, signage and devices.
• For safety, bike riders will be required to dismount and walk bikes around the active work zones.

Planned Construction and Delivery Truck Notice:

• If you reside in the Otter Road area and have scheduled construction or significant deliveries (such as tractor trailers, moving trucks, appliance/furniture deliveries, etc.) planned during the project timeframe, please contact Sea Pines Security at 843.671.7170 for prior approval and traffic coordination.

• Surveying, and utility staking and markings are in progress. Please do not remove any staking or utility markings around your property, as this will cause project delays.
• Traffic control will be in place as needed. Cyclists will need to dismount and walk bike around active work zones.
