Otter Road/Fawn Lane Infrastructure Improvement Project
|

Stormwater drainage construction and temporary asphalt patching is in progress and will continue through next week. Traffic control will be in place daily.
Roadway milling and paving operations are scheduled for the week of May 4, weather permitting.

Tree Care: Leisure trail trimming is underway near Greenwood Forest.
Stormwater Maintenance: Catch basin cleaning is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, on Greenwood Drive outside the gate. One lane of traffic will be closed during this work. Flagmen will be on site to assist with traffic flow.
Asphalt Repairs: A small patch repair is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, on Greenwood Drive near Lot 1. Brief, intermittent traffic delays should be expected. Additional asphalt work is also planned along Lighthouse Road near Willow Oak Road West and on Governors Road near Wood Duck Road.
Biannual Flower Bed Rotation: The biannual flower changeout of Sea Pines CSA-maintained landscape beds will begin early next week, weather permitting. Spent flowers will be available for pickup on a first-come, first-served basis at Trolley Lot #1, located off Greenwood Drive. This offer is available to Sea Pines property owners only. Landscaper and bulk pickup is not permitted.

Alligator Safety and Breeding Season Information

Alligator breeding season is from late April to June. Please exercise caution and remain vigilant, as alligators are known to be more active during their breeding season. When outdoors, be aware of your surroundings, carry a flashlight if walking at dusk or after dark, keep your pets on a leash, and always follow the below safety guidelines:
- Assume every body of water contains an alligator
- Stay at least 60 feet (4 car lengths) away from alligators
- Alligators are ambush predators and can move faster than you or your pets
- Keep yourself, pets and children away from water’s edge
- Swimming or wading is prohibited in Sea Pines’ waterways
- Feeding or harassing alligators is dangerous and illegal
- When fishing or crabbing do not throw used bait or fish parts into the water

Join Us for the Vine Cutting of Miner’s Mile Leisure Trail at the Sea Pines Forest Preserve
Join us on Friday, May 8 at 11:00 AM, for the opening celebration of the new leisure trail, Miner’s Mile, in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. We will meet at Fish Island, then walk over together for a vine cutting before hitting the new trail. Bring your bike and be among the first to ride, or walk at your own pace and take in the scenery. After the fun on the trail, enjoy a complimentary hot dog lunch provided by The Salty Dog Cafe.

If you are interested in serving on the Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation Advisory Board, you may apply by completing an application which can be found here. Artists of Sea Pines Celebrate All Creatures Great and Small with Opening Reception April 29 – Members of the public are invited to the opening reception of the Artists of Sea Pines’ new show, All Creatures Great and Small, on Wednesday, April 29 from 4:30–6:30 PM at the Sea Pines Community Center, 71 Lighthouse Road. This is the artists’ second show of 2026 and their first collaboration with the Hilton Head Humane Organization, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary of service to Beaufort County. Guests are welcome to enjoy complimentary refreshments, live music by The Sharp 5, and over 70 new works of art, including a special collection by Spotlight Artist Jeanie Hooper. A popular art raffle will also return, with proceeds benefiting the Hilton Head Humane Organization.
