Miner’s Mile Leisure Trail Opens at Sea Pines Forest Preserve

The official opening of Miner’s Mile Leisure Trail, the newest 1-mile trail addition to Sea Pines Forest Preserve, was held on Friday, May 8. The trail, dedicated to the late Charles “Charlie” Miner, was partially funded through an ATAX grant with the Town of Hilton Head Island.

The morning kicked off at Fish Island with remarks from Sam Bennett, Sea Pines CSA President/CEO, before the group walked together to the trailhead for a ceremonial sign reveal and vine cutting.

From there, attendees grabbed their bikes or used a bike rental available thanks to The Sea Pines Resort, while others chose to walk and take in the scenery at a leisurely pace. After exploring Miner’s Mile, participants gathered back at Fish Island Pavilion for complimentary hot dog lunches generously provided by The Salty Dog Cafe.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. If you missed the opening ceremony, we invite you to experience Miner’s Mile for yourself the next time you visit Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Click here to view the Sea Pines Forest Preserve map.
