Class “B” Commercial Board Member

Robert Gossett serves as a Commercial Director, first joining the CSA Board in 1991. He began visiting Sea Pines in 1959, vacationing here as a child with his family, in the days of dirt roads and no traffic lights. He owns several commercial and residential properties in Sea Pines including South Beach Marina Village and has served on several local Boards including Sea Pines Montessori where he was the Chairman in 2012.

Bob received a BS in Marketing from the University of South Carolina and moved to Sea Pines in 1979, starting out as a carpenter for Austin Construction. After several years working in the construction business and as a charter boat captain he opened The Salty Dog at South Beach Marina in 1987 and thus began his career in the hospitality business.

He has 3 children and lives in Bluffton with Bobby and Ellie and a menagerie of farm animals including goats, alpacas, donkeys, chickens, and a family of Sulcata tortoises. Bobby and Ellie attend Hilton Head Christian Academy and Suzanna attends College of Charleston.
