I am a native Cincinnatian. My career has spanned the technology and communications sectors, first developing software for the media and publishing industries, then shifting to increasingly responsible positions managing communications strategy for Fortune 100 companies in New York City. In 1997 we moved to London. I took a break to have children and then began work with Home Start, a charity that assists homeless families in navigating financial planning, education, housing and healthcare. In 2013, when it was time for our oldest to go to college, we crossed the pond again and moved to Sea Pines, where we had vacationed for years. I earned my real estate license and joined Keller Williams Realty and Diederik, my Dutch husband, commutes to D.C. to consult with the World Bank. We are empty nesters as of this September!
BA Rollins College ‘78; MBA, Thunderbird School, ASU ‘81
Why I wish to serve Sea Pines:
I have come to Hilton Head since I was a girl in the 1960s. Living in Europe, I searched for something similar to the plantation life we enjoy in Sea Pines. I never found it. Sea Pines is a unique place. I am passionate about conserving Charles Fraser’s visionary community plan -- with appropriate new development -- for future generations. Last year, hurricane Matthew brought our incredible community together -- on the Internet. I want to help ASPPPO evolve into a service-oriented organization that is a physical and internet-based resource – a meeting point for all homeowners. ASPPPO must also act as a protector of our covenant rights, and champion for the issues most important to homeowners. With a strong homeowner vision for our community’s future, a 5* Community will stand with a 5* Resort. I want every Sea Pines homeowner to say: “The best $35 ever spent was on ASPPPO!”
Questions From The Community:
In preparation for the upcoming Board of Director elections for CSA and ASPPPO, the Nominating Committees of each of these Boards asked Sea Pines Property Owners for candidate questions in advance.
61 questions were submitted to the Nominating Committees of CSA and ASPPPO to be asked of the board candidates. Questions were grouped into six categories, Personal, General, Finance/ Revenue, Gate, Governance and Referendum. Please note that only the questions from the community are included to be asked of the candidates. Opinions, statements, dissertations or preambles or other comments included by a property owner were removed so that the candidate could address the question. Some statements had to be modified to appear in the form of a question.
Each candidate received the same list of questions and was able to provide their summary related to each of the six categories.
