Meet Your ASPPPO and CSA Board Candidate: Barry Barth

Meet Your ASPPPO and CSA Board Candidate: Barry Barth

Candidate Name: Barry Barth

Running For: ASPPPO and CSA Board

Candidate Category: Incumbent for both CSA & ASPPPO Boards, Nomination by Committees

Barry Barth is a CSA and ASPPPO Board Member, running for a second term.  A retired TV broadcaster, past VP/GM of CBS affiliates in Hartford, CT; Spokane, WA; Fresno, CA; and FOX affiliate in Augusta, GA, Barry was responsible for all aspects of the business and was the “face” of the station. He served on Executive Committees, Chamber, and Non-Profit Boards. Professionally, Barry was the Board Chair of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and has a BA in Communications from the University of Notre Dame; Brooklyn College Fellow; Stanford University Executive Program.

Barry and Barbara have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren. He chairs the CSA Communications Committee; Vice Chair of the ASPPPO Board; Sea Pines Country Club member; attends Holy Family Catholic Church, and is a member of the Notre Dame Club of HHI.

Why I wish to serve Sea Pines:
First, Barb and I love living in Sea Pines and have many great friends! I am running for a second term because we are at a critical stage in our community.  I’m proud we survived 2 devastating hurricanes, pulled together as a community and proud of where the CSA team has brought us today.

It’s time to implement the Strategic Plan, which identifies future needs (not, wants!). Special emphasis on generating sufficient annual capital to replace aging infrastructure, estimated $1 million + per year, is necessary.  We’re aggressively moving forward on gate and traffic issues we control and voicing concerns to the Town, regarding the Circle.

On the ASPPPO front, formation of a Committee charged with enforcement actions on blighted properties and a Task Force addressing outdated bylaws, are underway.

As Communications Chair, I thank Amanda and Bret for stepped-up homeowner communications … more on the way.

One concluding comment: I want to thank YOU for showing up for Board Meetings, Coffees, and often spirited, but civil, discourse. We are listening!
