Beach Lagoon Pedestrian Timber Bridge Replacement Project

The existing wood timber pedestrian bridge located on Beach Lagoon Road (in proximity to Beachwalk 35A) that crosses over the lagoon has exceeded its useful life and must be replaced. Sea Pines CSA contractors are scheduled to begin demolition and reconstruction work the week of September 5th.

Project work will take approximately 6-8 weeks, weather permitting. During this time, pedestrians will need to use the detour to Beachwalk 35A as the bridge will not be available for use. Click here to view the detour map.


9/8/22 Update-

Sea Pines CSA contractors have completed demolition of the old bridge and construction of the new bridge began this week. Project work will take approximately 3-4 more weeks, weather permitting. During this time, pedestrians will need to use the detour to Beachwalk 35A as the bridge will not be available for use. Click here to view the detour map.


9/22/22 Update-

Construction of the new bridge is underway. Project work will take approximately 2-3 more weeks, weather permitting. During this time, pedestrians will need to use the detour to Beachwalk 35A as the bridge will not be available for use. Click here to view the suggested detour.

 

 


10/7/22-

Final completion of the new bridge will take approximately 2-3 more weeks, weather permitting. In the meantime, the bridge has been reopened for pedestrian use.

Beach Lagoon Pedestrian Timber Bridge Replacement Project Completed

The wood timber pedestrian bridge located on Beach Lagoon Road (in proximity to Beachwalk 35A) that crosses over the lagoon had exceeded its useful life and needed to be replaced. The replacement project was completed this week, and the new Beach Lagoon pedestrian bridge is open and available for use.
