A. PERSONS AUTHORIZED TO FISH
- Property Owners - Guests of property owners. Guests of property owners must be accompanied by the respective property owner. - Resort guests (guests staying in Sea Pines). - CSA and Sea Pines Company employees and members of their families when specifically and individually authorized by CSA. Guests of employees must be accompanied by the respective employee or employees. - Groups as authorized by CSA.
B. AREAS ACCESSIBLE TO FISHING
- Lagoons - Access may be had through common ground. Trespassing on private or regime property is not permitted. - Fishing in any lagoon bordering a golf course must be done in a manner and a time that will not interfere with golf operations.
-Tidal Creeks, Canals, Ocean: - Access may be had through common ground. Trespassing on private or regime property is not permitted. - A South Carolina saltwater fishing license is also required when fishing from shore in ocean or any other navigable body of salt/brackish water.
C. CONTROLS OVER FISHING
Sea Pines Security office will exercise control over all fishing within the Sea Pines Plantation area. All persons fishing will be required to have identification issued by the Security office as indicated below:
- Property owners - Property Owner I.D. card - All others - fishing permit issued for a specific date or period. - Fishing permits are available for a small fee and should be readily visible/ accessible while fishing. - The individual is responsible for determining the locations of those common grounds providing access to fishing.
D. FISH CATCH LIMITS
- Largemouth Bass: Only 12- 16 in. total length can be kept, all others must be released; not more than five (5) fish per person per day. - Crappie: No limit on size; not more than fifteen (15) fish per person per day. - Bream: No limit on size; not more than fifteen (15) fish per person per day. *** In Forest Preserve zero (0) limit on bream - catch and release only*** - Catfish: No limit on size; not more than two (2) fish per person per day. - Saltwater: check current South Carolina law (varies from year to year).
E. BAIT
No minnow bait may be used in the Forest Preserve or any other specifically designated body of fresh water within Sea Pines. In Lake Joe, the use of crickets, worms, hotdogs, or any other type of bait intended to ctach catfish are restricted to childern 14-years of age or younger and/ or guardians who are directly participating with the child. |
