The Sea Pines Resort offers organized activities for kids of all ages, available June through August, as well as various holiday times throughout the year. Fun For Kids/Kids Night Out
Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; 9 a.m.–12 p.m.; or 1–4 p.m. Thursdays, 6–9p.m.Join us at The Sea Pines Resort’s high energy, activity-based, outdoor-oriented summer day camp. Children ages 4–12 enjoy activities, such as swimming, miniature golf, arts & crafts and a whole lot more. Our trained, professional staff offers a safe, supervised environment. Full-day program includes morning activity, lunch and afternoon activity. Kids Night Out program includes dinner and activity. Lucky Ducky
Mondays, 1:30 p.m.
Splish and splash your way through the afternoon! Join our recreation staff at the Harbour Town Pool for a chance to win a prize by catching a rubber duck with a winning number. Complimentary

Family Pool Night (Pizza & a Movie)
Wednesdays, 8–10 p.m.
Enjoy a fun summer night floating on a tube at the Plantation Club Pool, while watching a movie and eating pizza with your family. Call 842-1979 for reservations or more information.

Future Stars Junior Golf Program
Mondays & Fridays, 2–3 p.m.; Tuesday–Thursday, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
This clinic, conducted by The Sea Pines Resort’s qualified PGA golf professionals, is for children ages four-12. Each clinic provides a fun introduction to the game of golf, with emphasis on safety, etiquette, rules and fundamentals. Experience is not expected or required. Summer Riding Camp
Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–noon
Lawton Stables offers weekly horse riding camps for juniors ages eight-16. These camps, designed for riders of all skill levels, include daily formal riding instruction, horsemanship skills and fun activities. Each camp concludes with a horse show, at 10 a.m. on Fridays, for parents and friends. Call 671-2586 for more information.

The Steppin Stones Concerts
June 4–18 & July 2–August 20
Saturdays, 7:30–9:30pm
The Steppin Stones is a young but seasoned classic rock band that has been performing for five years. The band brings the whole family together under the Liberty Oak in Harbour Town for a rockin’ good time with music everyone will enjoy! Complimentary

Face Painting, Magic & More
Sunday–Friday, 6–8 p.m.
Visit Harbour Town with your family to enjoy a selection of nightly activities and entertainment, including, but not limited to, children’s face painting, temporary tattoos, puppetry, magic and more. Call 842-1979 for more information.

Craft Cove Activities
Children and adults can enjoy a variety of craft activities at The Sea Pines Beach Club’s Craft Cove featuring Sand Art, Tie-Dye Fun, Jewelry Making and so much more. Please call The Sea Pines Resort Recreation Department at 842-1979 for more information.

Inaugural 4th of July Parade
Monday, Beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Show off your red, white and blue spirit by decorating your bicycle, wagon, dog, or kids for a fun parade around Harbour Town. Meet at the parking lot adjacent to the Harbour Town Lighthouse at 8:30 a.m. to register and pick up decorating supplies. Parade lineup begins promptly at 9:30am, and entries will be judged on patriotism. Call 842-1979 for more information. Complimentary

4th of July Golf Challenge
Monday, All Day
Enjoy friendly competition on Heron Point by Pete Dye golf course. Golfers use a flag to mark the point where they hit their 72nd shot, with handicap applied. Golfer whose flag is closest to the clubhouse wins. Normal greens fees apply. Call 842-1477 for more information.

Fireworks At Harbour Town
Monday, July 4, approximately 9 p.m.
Join the festivities in Harbour Town for a fireworks extravaganza that will light up the sky over the famous Harbour Town Lighthouse. Complimentary

Fun for Kids! Summer Day Camp
Fun for Kids! is a high-energy, activity-based, outdoor-oriented supervised recreational program offered by The Sea Pines Resort for children ages 4-12. Activities include swimming, putt put golf, arts and crafts, crabbing, boat cruises with Gregg Russell and a whole lot more. For reservations and daily activity schedule, call 843-671-3590 orclick here.

Harbour Town Nature Center
The H2O Nature Center in Harbour Town is the perfect resource for apparel, gifts, bike rentals and fishing gear. Our live-animal exhibits, educational programs and hands-on displays are sure to spark curiosity and inspire learning in all ages. The Nature Center focuses on the wildlife and habitats of the South Carolina Low Country. People of all ages are invited to have fun while learning and discovering the natural world. Harbour Town Playground
The nationally recognized Harbour Town Playground has a tree house, footbridge and lookout tower. It was originally inspired by Mary Fraser, wife of Sea Pines founder Charles Fraser; she modeled it after an innovative playground in Harlem, New York. Each piece of equipment was designed to work a different muscle group.

Harbour Town Lighthouse
Inside you will learn fun facts, hear authentic area music and see real artifacts from each of Hilton Head's historic eras.  Spectacular views of the harbor, surrounding sound and golf course await you at the top. For more information, click here or call 843-671-2810.

Gregg Russell Concerts Under the Liberty Oak
Enjoy an enchanting evening under the stars and grand branches of the Liberty Oak Tree in Harbour Town during the season. Audience participation is encouraged with Gregg's sing-along’s, ballads and silly songs. Click here for more information.

Craft Cove

Swimming Lessons

Let's Go Crabbing
Spend the morning on the sandy shores of South Beach in search of Hilton Head Island's largest and tastiest crab, the Blue Crab. Hermit crabs, seagulls and the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin often make appearances to bring life to the beach. Supplies provided; catch and release. 843-842-1979

Family Pool Night
Summer nights for the family are never boring while floating on a tube at the Plantation Club pool, watching a movie and eating pizza! 843-842-1979

Family Hayride
Explore some of the sights and sounds of the Forest Preserve. You'll see alligators, turtles and birds. This is a great orientation activity. 843-842-1979

Freshwater Fishing
At the beautiful lakes of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Turtles, alligators ad birds abound while you fish for largemouth bass, crappie, bream and catfish. Fishing tackle provided by Shakespeare. Catch and release. 843-842-1979

H20 Water sports Alligator Boat Tour
On the inland freshwater lakes of the Forest Preserve, come aboard our jungle safari boat to get a close-up view of the abundant plant and animal life of Sea Pines. Search for the American alligator and learn about our unique and exciting animals 843-686-5323

Gullah Campfire Storytelling
Travel to a different time and culture without leaving Sea Pines. Join a group around the campfire in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve for a night of Gullah stories, history, language, lifestyle and songs. Enjoy roasted marshmallows and lemonade while Louise Cohen, native Hilton Head Islander, captivates audiences with her myths and tales about the Gullah lifestyle.  843-842-1979

Evening Hayride
Find out what goes bump in the night by experiencing the Sea Pines Forest Preserve after dark. The only way into the Preserve after hours, this tour will let you enjoy the personality of the Forest Preserve under the stars as we search out the American alligator in its nighttime environment. 843-842-1979


SALTY DOG AND SOUTH BEACH MARINA

The Salty Dog Café in South Beach provides an array of children's activities during the season - everything from tie dying Salty Dog T-shirts and bandanas to bead mania to wood crafts and painting fun. Click here to see the most recent schedule, or call 843-683-6466 for more information.

LAWTON STABLES

Lawton Stables offers a variety of activities for horse-loving kids, everything from a small animal farm to pony rides to trail rides and summer riding camp. For more information, click here or call 843-671-2586. Activities include:

  • Pony Rides - Adorable, friendly ponies are here at Lawton to provide pony rides for children 7 and under.
  • Summer Riding Camp - Weekly camp sessions are offered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day for children ages 8-14.
  • Small Animal Farm - Bring all the family to visit the small animal farm at Lawton Stables which is free to all visitors. See a wonderful collection of small animals, including goats, sheep, donkeys, a pot-bellied pig, llama, miniature pony and baby rabbits.

GOLF

"Future Stars" Junior Golf Program
This clinic is for children ages 4 to 12. Conducted by The Sea Pines Resort's qualified PGA Golf Professionals, it provides a fun introduction to the game, with an emphasis on safety, etiquette, rules and the fundamentals. No experience is expected or required. Located at the Ocean/Plantation Club Driving Range. Click here for details or call 843-842-1477.

TENNIS

The Sea Pines Resort Smith-Stearns Tennis Academy
The Sea Pines Resort is the proud home of the Smith-Stearns Tennis Academy, which works with promising junior and young professional players on an individual level. Smith-Stearns serves students from unranked to ranked Junior World players to All-Americans currently in college. In addition to full-time year-round and summer instruction, the Academy also offers monthly, weekend and weekly programs and private lessons. Click here for more information, or call 843-363-4789.

South Beach Racquet Club
South Beach Racquet Club offers year-round tennis programs for junior players of all ages and playing levels, including the following programs:

WATER FUN

Bubble Gum Cruise on the Vagabond, Harbour Town
A Sea Pines Resort tradition and Hilton Head Island's favorite entertainer, Gregg Russell, boards the Vagabond every Thursday and Friday all summer long for ninety minute, fun-filled cruise featuring dolphins, music, games, stories, and more. Commander Zodiac, South Beach Marina
Commander Zodiac offers several programs for kids, including those mentioned below. Click here or call 843-671-3344 for more information.

Kids Water Fun Day (ages 4-13): A fun-filled morning of beach Olympics, sale and power boat rides, crabbing, water balloons, a scavenger hunt and more.

Junior Sailing (ages 7-16): A two-day (three hours a day) course designed for youths with little or no sailing experience. Instruction includes boat and water safety, rigging, tacking, points of sail, righting a capsized boat and much more. Sailing certificates are awarded upon successful completion of the course. Life jackets are provided and must be worn at all times on the boats.

Kayak Adventures for Kids and Teens (ages 7-11 and 12-16): Learn the basics of kayaking in these two-hour courses. Kayaking includes basic paddling techniques, water and boat safety, capsizing, currents and more. Provided life jackets are required.

THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF THE LOW COUNTRY

Technology Summer Camp for Children, learn video game development, animation, movie development and robotics. The summer sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost per camp is $150 per child, ages 9 and up. For more information contact Abi Fidler at (843) 689-3646.

Robotic Tech Camp teaches science and technology of robotics; camp runs from June 20th to June 31st. Clay Tech Camp teaches the art and science of creating animation. Create storyboards, build characters, film and edit your movies; camp runs from July 11th to July 15th.

Game Tech Camp teaches the field of video game development; camp runs from July 25th to August 5th.

Magic Island Summer Reading Camp is being offered to children in grades two through five with three summer camps being held. The first session runs June 13th through June 24; July 10 through July 22nd and July 25th through August 4th. Sessions for grades two and three will be from 9 a.m. to noon and grades four and five will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
