Gov. Henry McMaster Lifts Restaurant Occupancy Limits Statewide
Gov. Henry McMaster late last Friday issued Executive Order 2020-63, which lifts all occupancy limitations in restaurants throughout South Carolina, effective immediately. Previously, South Carolina’s restaurants were operating at 50% capacity. Now, they will be able to operate at 100% capacity.

Other restaurant safety guidelines – including the required use of face coverings for patrons and staff – remain in place for the time being. Additionally, the governor’s “last call order,” which doesn’t allow the sale or consumption of alcohol in restaurants after 11:00 PM, will remain in place until further notice. Other safety measures that are strongly encouraged, but are no longer required include the following:

  • Restaurants should space indoor and outdoor tables 6 feet apart, to the extent possible.
  • Restaurants should limit seating each table to no more than 8 customers and patrons, exclusive of family units or members of the same household.
  • Restaurants should adopt and enforce a process to ensure that customers and patrons are able to maintain a minimum of 6 feet of separation from other parties while waiting to be seated.
  • Restaurants should minimize, modify, or discontinue services that allow customers and patrons to fill or refill their own beverage cups.

2020 Sea Pines Trolley and CSA Beach Shuttle Service Update

Due to COVID19, the Sea Pines Trolley and the CSA Beach Shuttle operations are suspended until further notice. CSA continues to review operational plans to determine the safest way to provide this service and we will keep the community up to date as to when this service may resume.

Sea Pines Beach Club Parking Plan

Effective tomorrow, May 22 at 8 AM, The Sea Pines Resort will implement parking restrictions at The Sea Pines Beach Club & Plantation Golf Club parking lots.
Under the temporary revised plan, The Sea Pines Resort has agreed that in addition to Sea Pines Property Owners and Registered Guests of The Sea Pines Resort that renters staying in overnight accommodations within Sea Pines and others with the “right of access” may also park at the Beach Club and Plantation Club overflow lot to access the Beach Club and Beach Club Beach Access Points. This access is being extended on a temporary basis into June, providing that this location can accommodate the influx of vehicles.
Click here to view an update from The Sea Pines Resort regarding The Resort’s Beach Parking Plan for the Sea Pines Beach Club and Plantation Golf Club as well as an FAQ (Click here).
Additionally, based on the need, if the Plantation Club overflow parking lot reaches capacity, then the Hilton Head Prep parking lot will be opened as additional overflow parking.

CSA would like to thank both The Sea Pines Resort as well as Hilton Head Prep for their assistance with this temporary parking arrangement while the CSA Beach Shuttle Service is not available.

Hilton Head Island Town Council Adopts Governor’s Order Impacting Short-Term Rentals

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – Due to overwhelming public concern, the Hilton Head Island Town Council today repealed an emergency ordinance it passed earlier this week and adopted Governor Henry McMaster’s previously issued executive order prohibiting short-term rentals during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Governor’s executive order 2020-19, signed into effect on Friday, April 3, directed owners of short-term rentals and other lodging accommodations from making or accepting new reservations from people traveling from areas the Centers for Disease Control has identified as places where COVID-19 transmission is widespread, including the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The Governor’s order defines lodging establishments as “hotel, motel, villa, condominium, inn, tourist court, tourist camp, campground, bed and breakfast, residence, or any place in which rooms, lodging, or sleeping accommodations are furnished to transients for a consideration.”
